They appear natively within the shopping experience — in search results, category pages, the homepage, and product detail pages — blending in with organic listings while prioritising your products above the competition.


How they work

When a shopper searches for a product or browses a category, Lyko's platform runs an auction in real time to determine which sponsored products appear and in what order. You set a bid (the maximum you're willing to pay per click), and the platform weighs that bid against relevance and competition to determine placement.

You only pay when a shopper clicks your ad — this is a cost-per-click (CPC) model.


Where Sponsored Product Ads appear

Sponsored Product Ads are available across four placements. Each works differently depending on how shoppers arrive there.


Homepage

Your product appears in a sponsored slot on Lyko's homepage — one of the highest-traffic surfaces on the platform.

How placement is decided: The algorithm contextualises which products to show based on the visiting shopper's browsing history, purchase behaviour, and affinity signals. You don't select keywords or categories for this placement — the platform matches your product to the right shopper automatically.

Best for: Brands with broad appeal or bestselling products that perform well across a wide audience. Also effective for new product launches where you want maximum exposure quickly.


Category Pages

Your product appears as a sponsored listing within a relevant category browse page — for example, Hair Care, Skincare, or Styling.

How placement is decided: You select which categories to target. Your ad appears when a shopper is browsing that category, giving you direct access to high-intent shoppers who are actively exploring products like yours.
